Raymond Pettibon es un artista e ilustrador norteamericano que se dió a conocer como miembro (al bajo) y diseñador de la mercadería (nombre, logo carátulas, flyers, posters...) de la banda punk Black Flag. Esa ilustración suya que aparece en la portada del disco 'Goo' de los Sonic Youth está basada en una fotografía aparecida en la prensa. Los personajes de la imagen original son Maureen Hindley y David Smith, hermana y cuñado de Myra Hindley, aquella que junto a su novio Ian Brady protagonizó una perturbada historia de amor y asesinatos en los años 60 en la ciudad británica de Manchester. David Smith puso fin a aquel macabro episodio denunciando a la pareja al haber sido testigo de uno de los crímenes. La foto mostraba al delator y su pareja de camino al juzgado para declarar.
