Uno de los primeros libros de fotografías que me impactó -como aquel con retratos de norteamericanos del Oeste de Richard Avedon o el 'Brooklyn Gang' de Bruce Davidson- fue 'The Teds', el reportaje del fotógrafo Chris Steele-Perkins sobre los peculiares Teddy Boys, una tribu urbana surgida de las clases medias y obreras británicas de los 50s con algo de estética heredera de la época edwardiana y que luego influiría a siguientes generaciones más como una escena musical que como las pandillas camorristas que solían ser al principio. Malcolm McLaren y Vivienne Westwood adoptaron (a pesar de la rivalidad entre ambos ambientes) algunas de las prendas de este movimiento para su estilo punk y por lo tanto para la ropa de promoción de los Sex Pistols. Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood took (despite the rivalry between the two environments) some items of this movement for punk style and therefore promotion clothing for the Sex Pistols. I still have the book (the books attempt to survive my changes and economy struggles) and I occasionally return from time to time to those pages. I was looking at the book again after I found by chance a reference in the network.
