Meschiya Lake
With a past as a country child singer winning in contests and later as a punk teen among a circus troupe, gained afterwards a reputation as singer in a great street music band and dancing act based in New Orleans (The Loose Marbles), tattooed girl Meschiya Lake formed her own band in 2009 (The Little Big Horns) and with money from performances in streets and clubs and some touring recorded this Traditional Jazz brilliant album in 2010, one that may sound like a masterpiece from the beginning of last century.

Rome
'Rome' is a musical project by producer Danger Mouse and composer Daniele Luppi, featuring Jack White (White Stripes, Dead Weather, Racounters) and Norah Jones as guest vocalists. The record was launched this past May and the music seems clearly inspired by Ennio Morricone's western soundtracks as well as by other compositions for subgenres filmed in Studios in Rome in the '70s and early '80s. A great pleasure for the ears.

Deborah Luster
Tintypes by Deborah Luster. After the murder of her mother in 1998 this artist took the unthinkable determination to try to understand how people come to those terms and started taking portraits of inmates in prisons of the State of Louisiana between 1998 and 2003, a collection of thousands of negatives that gave form to the work she titled and also has been published in a book as 'One Big Self', the book also containing poems by writer C.D. Wright. Really called my attention of this excellent work the artist was never interested in photography until then so it was her starting point in the medium.
