Tintypes by Deborah Luster. After the murder of her mother in 1998 this artist took the unthinkable determination to try to understand how people come to those terms and started taking portraits of inmates in prisons of the State of Louisiana between 1998 and 2003, a collection of thousands of negatives that gave form to the work she titled and also has been published in a book as 'One Big Self', the book also containing poems by writer C.D. Wright. Really called my attention of this excellent work the artist was never interested in photography until then so it was her starting point in the medium.
