Django Reinhardt and his burned left hand. Gypsy swing pioneer musician who one night after playing at a club and resting in the caravan where he lived with his wife lighted a candle after hearing a noise. Wax that fell from the candle litted celluloid flowers his wife wanted to sell the next day. The whole cabin soon caught in fire. Both managed to save their life wrapping themselves in a blanket but the right side of the body of the musician and his left hand were seriously damaged, preventing the extension of two fingers. This would be an influence in his playing. He was to become later for many reasons one of the most revered jazz figures.
