'Blessed' (2011) es el título del más reciente disco de esa veterana y buenísima cantautora llamada Lucinda Williams- Y en contra de la tendencia de los tiempos, que va sacrificando el formato físico en favor de archivos digitales, la artista ha editado el disco con 8 portadas diferentes para vinilo, cd y ediciones deluxe incluyendo interpretaciones básicas de las canciones con el nombre de 'The Kitchen Tapes' (material igual de disfrutable que el finalmente producido por Don Was), el arte visual basado en un vídeo preparado para el lanzamiento del disco y realizado por James Michin III y Rod Blackhurst. El título del disco ['Bendecido'], que coincide con el de una de las canciones, se refiere según la artista no tanto al concepto religioso de la palabra sino a aquellos que a pesar de llevar una vida supuestamente marginal por falta de dinero, soledad o cualquier otra razón, se sienten por contra bendecidos por la vida y son felices con su existencia. Otra de las canciones, 'Seeing Black', está inspirada por el suicidio de otro cantautor, Vic Chesnutt, quien a su vez editó en otra ocasión una canción titulada 'Lucinda Williams' dedicada a la cantante a quien espetó en una ocasión "Tu música me la pone dura" según declaró ella misma en una entrevista.

The album's title, 'Blessed', wich coincides with that adopted for one of the songs, refers according to the artist not so much to the religious concept of the word but to the people that despite leading a marginal life, being for lack of money, or loneliness or any other reason, feel blessed by life and are satisfied with their existence.
