A love like Lux & Ivy's... Poison Ivy photographed by Lux Interior (and vice-versa)
Lux Interior (nombre real Erick Lee Purkisher, fallecido en el 2009) y Poison Ivy (Kristy Wallace) se conocieron cuando él la recogió haciendo autoestop y no se separaron más. Almas gemelas y cómplices desde entonces comenzaron a coleccionar oscuros discos de rockabilly y garaje y películas de serie B y a tocar su propia música que, al trasladarse a Nueva York e integrarse en la movida punk de entonces (aquella del mítico CBGB's y el Max's Kansas City), también les hizo incorporar algo de aquel sonido y de ahí surgió su propia interpretación, conocida posteriormente como psychobilly y que no es más que una mezcla de sus influencias, es decir, el garaje, el punk o el rockabilly entre otras y que caracteriza a la banda que formaron, The Cramps. Aparte de su peculiar estilo y sus imponentes actuaciones (un Lux desaforado, botella de vino en mano y exhibicionista al estilo Iggy Pop y una Ivy fría y plena de actitud tocando con potencia la guitarra con una mezcla muy personal de surf, rock'n'roll y punk con una inspiración notablemente basada en Link Wray) también es característico el diseño de su material, que al principio venía firmado en una onda más gótica por otros pero luego fue un vehículo para las obsesiones visuales de ambos, que básicamente mostraría a Poison Ivy en diferentes interpretaciones de una pin-up en lo que, con el tiempo y mirado en conjunto, se muestra como un rendido homenaje de Lux a su musa y pareja de por vida.

Soul mates and accomplices they began collecting all kind of rockabilly and garage records and B-movies and playing their own music, but moving to New York and joining the emerging punk scene of the '70s (that of the legendary CBGB's and Max's Kansas City ) made them incorporate new sounds and give it their own interpretation, later known as psychobilly wich is no other thing that a mixture of influences (ie, garage, punk or rockabilly among others) that made their band, The Cramps, a very popular act. Apart from their unique style and stunning performances (an outrageous howling Lux, bottle of wine in hand and exhibitionist in the style of Iggy Pop and a cool and full of attitude Ivy playing a powerful guitar with a very personal mixture of surf, rock 'n' roll and punk and notably inspired by Link Wray) is also quite characteristic the design of their releases and promo stuff, which at first had been signed in a more gothic wave by others but later became a vehicle for their visual obsessions that basically showed Poison Ivy in different interpretations of a pin-up in what, with the passing of time and looked in its whole, stays as Lux Interior's tribute to his muse and life partner.
