Karl Stoecker, the forgotten photographer of Glam Rock
Karl Stoecker was the photographer behind some iconic album covers for Roxy Music, Sparks or Lou Reed. He is often overlooked when it comes to naming Rock photographers, although those images have irremediably been an influence in visual arts. In later years he went on dedicated intermittently to photography, but it seems he faded out of the public radar far more interested in leading a relaxed life on the shores of the Californian sea with his wife, model, photographer and businesswoman Patty Stoecker, who helped give a second public life to the work of her husband achieving its inclusion in an exhibition that the British Tate Modern dedicated to Glam.
