Una dama oscura

Con un álbum, su banda sonora, que podría estar entre lo mejor publicado últimamente, en el que la actriz que la interpreta revisa algunas de sus canciones emblemáticas con un toque más expresivo y menos deprimente junto a la banda italiana Gatto Ciliega Contro Il Grande Freddo y que además contiene magníficas versiones irónicas de dos éxitos horteras de los ochenta, esta película revisa los últimos años de vida de la cantante y modelo Nico, en los que se dedicó a deambular su mirada abismal y su figura siniestra y conscientemente descuidada por la adicción y el resquemor, acompañados de mala leche y toques de sabiduría, por los escenarios que se lo permitieran. Atrás la Nico que tuvo romances erráticos con Jim Morrison o Lou Reed, que inició a Iggy Pop en algunos placeres y que fascinó a Andy Warhol hasta el punto de imponerla con acierto en las primeras grabaciones de la Velvet Underground. En la película se retrata su declive final antes del fatal incidente ciclista que acabó en Ibiza con su vida, cuando trataba de recuperar la relación con su hijo, Ari, con quien la propia Nico compartió su fatal vicio y que tuvo con un despiadado Alain Delon, que nunca lo reconoció aunque su madre, la digna abuela del chico, asumiera sus cuidados. El mayor acierto de la película parece estar en el gusto que se ha puesto en la reinterpretación de la interesantísma aunque difícil carrera musical de Nico.

With an album, its soundtrack, which could be among the best published lately, in which the actress who performs as Nico revisits some of her emblematic songs with a more expressive and less depressing touch along Italian band Gatto Ciliega Contro Il Grande Freddo and which is completed with magnificent ironic versions of two tacky hits of the eighties, the movie 'Nico 1988' reviews the last years of life of the singer and model Nico, when she wandered her abysmal gaze and sinister figure, consciously neglected by addiction and resent, accompanied by bad humour and touches of wisdom, by all sorts of scenarios. No look here at the Nico who had erratic romances with Jim Morrison or Lou Reed, who started Iggy Pop in some pleasures and who fascinated Andy Warhol to the point of successfully imposing her on the first recordings of the Velvet Underground. The film portrays her final decline before the fatal cyclist incident that ended in Ibiza with her life, when she was trying to recover the relationship with her son, Ari, with whom Nico herself shared her fatal vice and son also of a ruthless Alain Delon, who never recognized him although his mother, the worthy grandmother of the boy, assumed to care lovingly. The film presents a great reinterpretation of Nico's interesting but difficult musical career.
