The Hong Kong Café was a very active Chinese diner during the punk and new wave L.A. scene of the 70s and 80s, with a multitude of underground performances. It is shown, for example, in the documentary The Decline Of Western Civilization or cult film Chinatown. Currently it seems to keep the same architecture, but has been converted into a gift shop.
