'Little Johnny Jewel' es el single de debut de la banda Television, editado en 1975, previo a la publicación de su prestigioso primer álbum 'Marquee Moon' (1977). Para cuando grabaron la canción acababan de abandonar su anterior nombre, The Neon Boys, habían inaugurado los conciertos rock del CBGB, fracasado en un intento de colaboración con Brian Eno y el músico y escritor Richard Hell ya había partido para unirse a los Heartbreakers de Johnny Thunders, sustituido por Fred Smith, miembro de Blondie (no confundir con el Fred Sonic Smith de MC5 y Patti Smith). Dividida la canción en dos partes en sus dos caras, en publicaciones posteriores se ensamblaron ambas. 'Little Johnny Jewel' is a 1975 debut single by the band Television prior to the publication of their prestigious first album 'Marquee Moon' (1977). By the time they recorded the song they had abandoned their previous name, The Neon Boys, started the rock shows in CBGB, failed on an attempt to be produced by Brian Eno and musician and writer Richard Hell had already left to join Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers, being replaced by Fred Smith, member of Blondie (not to be confused with Fred Sonic Smith of MC5 and Patti Smith). Divided in two parts in its two sides, in later publications both were assembled. The lyrics, written by the band's singer and guitarist Tom Verlaine, narrated about a street wise loser character and seemed to play with the phrase "to tell a vision" to make it sound quite similar to the band's name. It has been covered by numerous bands, live or in studio.
