Ruth Brown fue una cantante de blues y ryrhm & blues que conoció pronto el ambiente musical al fugarse de casa muy joven con un trompetista. Comenzaría a cantar en bares y orquestas y durante los años 50s obtuvo algunos éxitos al fichar por el sello Atlantic. Durante los 60s se retiró de la música para dedicarse a su familia y no es hasta mediados de los 70s que volvería para grabar y disfrutar de reconocimiento.
Ruth Brown was a blues and ryrhm & blues singer who enjoyed very soon the music scene for she runned away from her parents home with a trumpet player. Later she would start singing in bars and bands and over the 50s achieved some success after joining the Atlantic record label. During the 60s she retired from music to raise a family and it wasn't until the mid-70s that she made her come back to enjoy some recognition.
