Rome
'Rome' is a musical project by producer Danger Mouse and composer Daniele Luppi, featuring Jack White (White Stripes, Dead Weather, Racounters) and Norah Jones as guest vocalists. The record was launched this past May and the music seems clearly inspired by Ennio Morricone's western soundtracks as well as by other compositions for subgenres filmed in Studios in Rome in the '70s and early '80s. A great pleasure for the ears.

The Jean Genie
Cyrinda Foxe estuvo casada con el cantante de los New York Dolls, David Johansen y posteriormente con el cantante de Aerosmith, Steven Tyler, con quien tuvo una hija.
Cyrinda Foxe & David Bowie posing while filming scenes for Mick Rock's video for 'The Jean Genie', the clip mixing live footage, Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders of Mars era, with some filming in a Studio and also other additional scenes featuring Cyrinda Foxe, who had been associated to Warhol's stars orbit and that would work in MainMan, the managment office for Bowie. Bowie and Cyrinda had an affair at the time. The black and white outside scenes were captured in front of Mars Hotel in San Francisco but the footage was finally used very briefly for the video. Cyrinda, who lived in New York, traveled to San Francisco to shoot those scenes. Bowie had an image for the video of Ziggy as "a Hollywood rat accompanied by a Marilyn-type consort", therefore that shooting. The song was released as a single in 1972 and was part of his 1973 album 'Aladdin Sane'. It depicted a character like those superstars from Andy Warhol's Factory described in those songs by The Velvet Underground, but it was really based in his friend Iggy Pop, the title inspired ("unconsciously" according to Bowie) by Jean Genet, the writer. Cyrinda married David Johansen, singer with the New York Dolls, and later Steven Tyler from Aerosmith whom she had a daughter with.

Muddy Waters
This was a comeback album for Muddy Waters, who didn't record for several years after Chess Records (you can check out the movie 'Cadillac Records' to kind of know more about it) was bought. In the year of the making of this loud electric blues album he was signed by Blue Sky, the label of Johnny Winter, who also went on to produce it.

Mark Morrisroe was a performance and visual artist, mainly as a photographer, who had his importance in the development of the Boston punk scene. Son to a junkie mother and nephew of the serial murderer known as the "Boston Strangler" he began to make a living as a teenager out of hustling. One of his clients shot him when he was 17, leaving him for life with a bullet lodged in his back, a fact which is reflected in some of his creations. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Boston, where he became friends with other artists, including Nan Goldin. In his work dominates Polaroid photography, usually found decorated with handwritten notes, but also the use of overlap of images, X-rays or found images, printing experiments or still frames out of Super 8 films... Morrisroe died in 1989 of complications associated with AIDS.
