Cuando me enteré que está a punto de publicarse el segundo álbum inevitablemente volví a escuchar el magnífico primer volumen, una colección de canciones tradicionales piratas interpretadas por figuras importantes de la escena (Nick Cave, Brian Ferry, Lucinda Williams, Sting, Bono, Rufus Wainright, Jarvis Cocker, Lou Reed...) y dirigida por el prestigioso productor Hal Willner e impulsada por Johnny Depp y el director Gore Verbinski cuando andaban imbuidos en la realización de la segunda parte de 'Los Piratas Del Caribe', lo que obligó a la Disney (responsable de la saga de películas basada en una de las atracciones estrella de sus parques) a desmarcarse y eximir toda responsabilidad de la idea debido al alto contenido amoral de muchas de las letras.
As I read the second album is about to be published I felt this urgent need to listen again to the magnificent first volume, a collection of traditional pirate songs recorded by some figures of the music scene (Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, Lucinda Williams, Sting, Bono, Rufus Wainwright, Jarvis Cocker, Lou Reed...) and directed by renowned producer Hal Willner upon an idea by Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski when they were imbued in the making of the Second Part of 'The Pirates of the Caribbean', and idea Disney (responsible for that film saga based on one of the main attractions of their amusement parks) distanced from and waived all liability due to the high amoral content of many of the lyrics.
