Segunda entrega de versiones de canciones de Jeffrey Lee Pierce (1958-1996), más conocido como el líder de la banda The Gun Club, a cargo de amigos y admiradores como Nick Cave, Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell, Bertrand Cantat (Noir Desir), Warren Ellis, Barry Adamson, Mick Harvey, Lydia Lunch, Tav Falco, Debbie Harry (Blondie) o The Jim Jones Revue entre otros. Publicado el año pasado, el resultado es igual de bueno que aquel 'We Are Only Riders' publicado en el 2009 y en el que intervenían casi los mismos artistas. No en vano el equipo que ha posibilitado y producido ambas ediciones ha optado por englobarse bajo el nombre genérico The Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions Project y el punto de partida de sendos proyectos es una grabación casera en cinta-casete que encontró el principal impulsor del proyecto, el músico Cypress Grove, con algunas canciones nunca publicadas tocadas al alimón con el homenajeado. El resultado por ahora son dos álbumes MUY recomendables.
Second volume of covers of songs written by Jeffrey Lee Pierce (1958-1996), best known as the leader of the band The Gun Club, performed by friends and admirers such as Nick Cave, Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell, Bertrand Cantat (Noir Desir), Warren Ellis, Barry Adamson, Mick Harvey, Lydia Lunch, Tav Falco, Debbie Harry (Blondie) or The Jim Jones Revue among others. Published last year, the result is as good as that first volume titled 'We Are Only Riders' published in 2009 wich involved almost the same artists. The production and musical direction team chose for both editions the generic name The Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions Project and its origin is in a home recording on a tape found while cleaning his loft by the main man responsible for the project, musician Cypress Grove, with some unreleased songs played with the honoree, the result being up to this date two magnificent albums.
