El ornitólogo americano James Bond escribió un tratado con el título Birds of The West Indies que llegó a las manos del escritor Ian Fleming, un apasionado de los pájaros. Es así que el famoso agente secreto de sus novelas encontró un nombre. La artista Taryn Simon ha construido un trabajo titulado como el tratado y, basándose en esa anécdota, ha dividido el resultado en dos partes: un inventario de iconografía del agente secreto (mujeres, coches y objetos diversos) y una serie de imágenes de pájaros aparecidos en las películas, en una peculiar combinación que pone de manifiesto en este caso en particular la extraña línea entre ficción y realidad.
Taryn Simon es una artista con base en Nueva York que combina en sus trabajos fotografía, texto y diseño para exhibir instalaciones conceptuales y temáticas.
The American ornithologist James Bond wrote a treatise entitled Birds of The West Indies known by writer Ian Fleming, a passionate bird watcher. Thus the famous secret agent of his novels found a name. The artist Taryn Simon has built a work titled as the taxonomy and, based on that anecdote, the result has been divided in two parts: an inventory of iconography related to the secret agent (women, cars and diverse objects) and a series of images of birds from the films of the saga in a peculiar combination that calls the attention upon the strange line between fiction and reality on this particular subject.
