Neal Cassady is revered for generations for inspiring an emblematic novel, 'On the Road'. That libertine fiction, representative of the so-called beat generation, narrates a trip by Neal and his friend, the author of the novel, Jack Kerouac. Neal, although grown up in an unconventional environment with a disastrous alcoholic father, tried to lead a responsible father's life with the three children he had with the protagonist of this atypical documentary, Carolyn Cassady (1923-2013). Neal worked for a decade in the construction of railroad tracks until he became unemployed. Then he unleashed his most hedonistic and atypical personality by sharing with his friend Jack ethyl and lysergic pleasures, or even his wife. Both lasted little on that vital suicide route and died a few years later. Carolyn, in the documentary already an old woman, looks back as she did in her book on the subject and talks with demystifying sincerity, by pieces and not without shame, about those memories.
