Her early work was for the British production company Rank and later did some recognized work as her role in the 1956 film 'Yield To The Night', its plot taking advantage of the turmoil caused by the death penalty applied to female convict Ruth Ellis. Following her involvement with that role she took a growing interest and participation in charity events for inmates of the prison system. The success of the film caused her rising as a pin-up icon at a time when blondes like Marilyn Monroe or her "imitators" Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren appeared on the covers of many magazines around the world. But even though that gave her a name in neon lights and magazine covers it also probably disturbed her career as she later mostly participated in erotic films that only served for that blonde bombshell stereotype.
