Álbum de homenaje al genio del contrabajo Charles Mingus, publicado en 1992 y producido por el prestigioso Hal Willner quien, además de forjar una carrera como productor musical para algunos músicos de renombre y proyectos cinematográficos o televisivos (Saturday Night Live por ejemplo), siempre ha mostrado querencia por aceptar trabajos de tributo (Nino Rota, Thelonious Monk...) y temáticos (Rogue's Gallery) en los que suele embaucar a personajes respetados de la música y la cultura popular o underground. En este proyecto contó con Elvis Costello, Charlie Watts & Keith Richards, Dr. John, Leonard Cohen, Robbie Robertson, Chuck D, Henry Rollins, Marc Ribot o Diamanda Galas entre otros y en cuya elaboración cabe destacar que se usaron instrumentos creados para la ocasión por Harry Patch, un innovador luthier experimental de los años 60s, quien además participó en las composiciones y arreglos, ayudando a dar forma a este rompecabezas que tardó en completarse cerca de una década.
