Oscar & Fred

Ravishing delicacy this 1952 recording in which best-known-as-dancer Fred Astaire and the wizard of piano rythm Oscar Peterson got together in a New York Studio with a jazz band to play some gems from Fred's repertoire and other standards. The result was part of a deluxe edition originally published as a 4 lps box with the aim of serving as a summary of the career of the icon of show-business and the big screen that was Astaire. Currently you can find it published in several editions with different covers, any of them a must (except those including disturbing unfortunate remixes), with that hypnotic voice of the casual singer giving that everlasting touch to any of the tracks, suitable to be played at any time or place, helped of course by the impeccable and at some moments infectious swing music that accompanied him.
